Description
Some things arrive before you were looking for them. The Dzi has always worked this way.
The strand is brown yak bone — deep and warm. For centuries, the yak has given the nomadic people of Tibet nearly everything required to survive at altitudes — milk and meat, wool spun into tents and clothing, dung burned as fuel when there was no wood for hundreds of miles, and a back broad enough to carry a family's entire life across the plateau, season after season.
At the center, one Dzi bead waits in its own particular pattern. Vase or tiger, tortoise or line — each one ancient, each one different, each one carrying its own specific weight of meaning accumulated across centuries of Tibetan hands that wore it, honored it, and passed it forward.
The tradition holds that Dzi beads did not come from the earth. They fell from the sky — into the hands of those whose karma was good enough to receive them. The bead that arrives has been moving toward you — through the farmer's field, through the artisan's hands, through the distance between the plateau and wherever you are.
Wear what arrives. It was always yours.
