Amber is not a stone. It is time, made visible. In Tibetan tradition, amber has been worn for centuries as a vessel of life force and protection. Not the aggressive protection of a shield, but the quieter kind — the warmth that surrounds and sustains, that keeps the cold at bay not by fighting it but by generating something stronger than it.

This bracelet is a strand of yellow transparent amber — each bead warm, clear, alive with the particular golden light that only amber generates.

And two stones anchor the strand.

Lapis lazuli — the sky made solid, the color of the Medicine Buddha's body, the stone associated in Tibetan tradition with the clarity of a mind that has found its way through confusion to something clean and true.

And red amber — where yellow amber warms, red amber burns. Where yellow amber sustains, red amber protects with the particular ferocity of something that has decided, completely and without reservation.

Sammo Tso carried turquoise and survived the deep. Medot carried amber and red agate and walked free. The women of Shero have always understood that what you carry on your body is not decoration — it is declaration. This is what I bring into the world. This is what I refuse to be without.
