Description
In Tibetan tradition, stringing precious beads together is believed to weave a living shield — each gem a layer of protection, each thread a quiet prayer.
The legend behind this belief runs deep.
Long ago, a cruel and feared tribe chief lost his prized horse. In his rage, he sent out dozens of men to find it, executing eleven who returned empty-handed. The twelfth, a loyal servant named Chidun, pressed on through blistering cold and mountain passes until he found the horse grazing in a distant valley — with a young shepherd boy sitting calmly on its back.
The boy had no fear. He asked to be taken to the chief.
When the chief saw this stranger riding his horse, fury overtook him. He lunged forward with his blade and drove it at the boy’s throat — yet the steel refused to bite. There, catching the light like a fragment of sky, was a strand of beads around the boy’s neck: vivid, multi-colored, shimmering like a rainbow made solid. The beads held. The blade could not.
Greed replaced fury. The chief tore the necklace from the boy and draped it across his own chest, convinced that divine power was now his. To prove it — to boast of his own invincibility — he ordered Chidun to strike his neck.
Chidun obeyed. The blade fell. The chief fell with it.
And the necklace, as if it had never left, returned to rest around the shepherd’s neck.
The story spread across the plateau like wind over snow — not just as a tale of magic, but as a truth the Tibetan people have long held: sacred objects choose their keeper. Treasures do not serve the cruel, they return to where they belong.
Inspired by this legend, we created the Rainbow Collection.
It is not merely colorful stones — it is a miniature museum of the Earth itself, millions of years of pressure, heat, and transformation compressed into something you can hold.
The chief sought power and found none. The shepherd carried it quietly, and it never left him. May this necklace do the same for you.
